In order to not only detect data loss (unintentional) but also detect data leakage like theft or manipulation (intentional) and take proactive prevention measures, Matrix42 Endpoint Security Prevention offers comprehensive analysis and automation functionality. This includes Insight Analysis, which monitores all proactive protective measures, thus ensuring that they are optimally designed. The IntellAct module represents the automation engine allowing rule-based workflows that trigger dedicated security actions to protect data. It also features modules controlling access to data gateways on the endpoint, controlling application execution, checking all data transfers and application executions on the endpoint, as well as data encryption. Files are being encrypted with configurable algorithms like AES 256 Bit or Blowfish 448 Bit whenever you copy a file from your local endpoint to an unsecure location and decrypted ‘automagically’ without the customer having to do anything if the agent is installed on the device.
If customers want to access the encrypted data from an unmanaged device, it can be decrypted by entering a password via a little app that is copied with the encrypted files automatically. This behaviour can be configured very granular to ensure that certain files can’t be encrypted for example on unmanaged endpoints at all.
To especially protect the data on your mobile devices in case of theft or loss, the Full Disk Encryption in combination with the Preboot Authentication makes everything on the endpoint’s hard drive unusable and even unbootable if you can’t login right after the boot of the device is initiated.
